  1. Hi There

We at CHANGE are a national organisation in Leeds run by people with learning disabilities.

Together with Lumos (an international NGO for disadvantaged children across Europe) we are holding a free national event on June 26th in Leeds for people with learning disabilities and by people with learning disabilities who will come together to decide on what their demands to government are to close down institutions in the UK.

I hope it would be possible for you to send the booking form to your network of contacts. You can download the booking form here. http://www.changepeople.org/blog-and-news/our-voices-our-choices-national-event/

I think that this an important and very real opportunity for people with learning disabilities to be leaders in closing down institutions here in the UK and across Europe. I want people with learning disabilities to have real choice and control over their lives.

    Thank you very much.

  2. I write to introduce the home library service and to see if you know of any groups or individuals that may benefit from our service. The Royal Voluntary Service work in partnership with York Explore Libraries offering a home library service to anyone unable to get to the library or anyone feeling isolated. We have volunteers that will visit people in their homes, taking library books, discussing reading choices and also offering IT support if people want to download e-books or access the library internet etc. This is also an offer of companionship and a chance to check the person is safe and well. Our volunteers visit the same people and can visit either every other week or monthly.
If this is something you think anyone could benefit from or you have any contacts please do get in touch.
    Thank you.
    Kind regards
    Sarah Wallis
